This has certainly been a soggy week but that has not put a damper on IA! We have had a terrific week and we are looking forward to many great and important events ahead. Please read this carefully, as there are many specifics that we do not want you to miss.
Prom tickets - are no longer available. The cut off was today at 2:00pm. We are sorry if you missed the deadline. For those of you who are attending, here is the information once again: Prom is on Saturday, May 2nd from 7:00 - 10:00 pm at Crystal Gardens Banquet Center. All students must arrive by 8:00 pm. Entry will not be permitted after 8:00 pm. Please plan accordingly to make sure you can be admitted and so that you do not miss the start of the evening. We wish attendees an evening filled with music, dancing and unforgettable memories!
Senior Focus Day - our next senior focus day is Friday, April 24th. This is the LAST focus day for seniors before senior completion day. We will be working with each senior to make sure that you are on track for graduation. Make sure that you are here and working toward this goal!
Senior Completion Day - every senior must be done with their standards by Friday, May 8th in order to graduate this year and not need to complete a 5th year. Again, do not miss Senior Focus Day on the 24th and every day from now until May 8th if you are behind in your work.
Graduation - Graduation will be held this year on Wednesday, May 20th at the Parker Middle School football field at 7:00pm. Mandatory rehearsal will be that morning at 11:00 am sharp on the field. You cannot be late to rehearsal and if you do not attend rehearsal you will be unable to walk in the graduation ceremony. A senior breakfast will be held at IA before rehearsal. Mark your calendars! There will be more information to come in future emails.
Caps/Gowns - are now available for seniors who have completed their senior checkout. There is only a $15.00 fee for your cap and tassel, which you will keep. There is no fee for your gown which must be turned in after the graduation ceremony to receive your diploma.
Highlander Robotics Open House Welcomes Future Innovators
Curious about robotics and STEM opportunities for students? The Highlander Robotics program is hosting an open house on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 6:30–7:30 p.m. in the Parker Commons. The event will feature all levels of the program, welcoming students from Kindergarten through 12th grade to explore the Highlander Robotics program. Highlander Robotics proudly participates in multiple programs, including FIRST LEGO League, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FIRST Robotics Competition. Each program offers students unique opportunities to build technical skills, collaborate with peers, and engage in real-world problem-solving. Library Board Seeks Community Applicants
The Howell Carnegie District Library Board of Trustees is currently seeking applicants to fill an upcoming vacancy. The Board plays an important role in shaping library policy, guiding long-term strategic planning, and overseeing the library’s budget. Trustees serve four-year terms and are appointed by either the Howell City Council or the Howell Public Schools Board of Education. At this time, the Board of Education is accepting letters of interest for a term beginning July 1, 2026. Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest to Sharin Smith, Executive Secretary to the Superintendent, at [email protected]. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 22.
