FAFSA DAYS!!! March 10 and 12
On March 10th and 12th, an expert from the MDE will be in to help senior students and families with their FAFSA paperwork. She will be in from 9am until 1pm, on both days. FAFSA completion is required if you plan on attending college, and it can be confusing. It is also how you can earn scholarships, grants, and student loans. So these two days are vital for seniors. Furthermore, by completing FAFSA here at IA you will receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card or you can get your $60 Prom ticket for free. The whole process should take less than 30 minutes. If you do not plan on attending college, you can still earn a $10 gift card, simply by filling out the FAFSA waiver.
Come hungry because on the 10th we will serve coffee, Dunkin Donuts, and Jimmy John’s subs. Then on the 12th, we will again have coffee, Dunkin Donuts, and this time lunch will be from Dave’s Hot Chicken.
Students and parents will need to know their Social Security numbers, and have a valid email address. Students will need a non-school email address. If parents can bring a copy of their 2024 tax return and W2 - it will make the process easier. However, it is not a necessity to bring it.
This is a great opportunity, so do not miss out!!!!!
State Testing
State testing for SAT, PSAT, M-STEP and WIN will take place in early April. To get ready for the tests, students will begin chromebook device checks for student readiness. Students will meet in the Commons to do this during school. Stay tuned for more information.
MI Student Voice Perception Survey
Howell Public Schools will participate in the MI Student Voice Perception Survey, which provides valuable feedback to support our improvement efforts. The survey will be administered to students in grades 5–12 and will offer insight into the student experience beyond test scores, including engagement and belonging. The survey does not include questions about drug or alcohol use, intimate relationships, political or religious affiliations, or other personal information. Families may review the survey questions at: https://bit.ly/4tHardS. If you prefer that your child not participate, please complete the opt-out form at https://bit.ly/4aO9PL4 by Friday, March 6, 2026. Students will take the survey between March 9 and March 27. In addition, the MI Student Voice Family Perception Survey will be emailed to families during the week of March 9.
