This Week In Innovation 11-14-25

There is so much to be thankful for this year at IA, and lots on the calendar for the rest of November.

Senior Focus Day

Our next Senior Focus Day will be Friday November 21st.  Again, it is mandatory for all seniors (even the seniors that are dual enrolled and enrolled in their career capstone to attend).  There is no bussing provided on these days, and all gaming areas are shut down.  Students are encouraged to be here all day from 7:30 until 2:30.  Pizza will be purchased for all of the students, this time from Cottage Inn.

Universal Technical Institute to Visit

Any student that is interested in a career in the skilled trades is encouraged to attend one of the two presentations by Troy Helmick from the Universal Technical Institute.  He will be in on Thursday Nov. 20th at 9am and 12:30pm to talk to the students on how to start a career in these amazing fields of work.  Skilled trades jobs are in high demand right now, and paying incredibly well.  If this is something you are interested in, please do not miss this opportunity.

IA Thanksgiving Dinner

On Monday November 24th, we will be serving our annual Thanksgiving Feast in the IA gym.  This is hosted by Ivy Table and Community Bible Church.  It is always a 10 out of 10, and guaranteed to put you in a turkey coma.  However, the mac and cheese and pumpkin pie are my personal favorites.  This is not just open to all IA students, but all IA family members are welcome.  The meal begins at 9:30am and ends at 12:00 noon.

Thanksgiving Break

There is no school November 26, 27, and 28th for Thanksgiving break.  Please remember that we follow the Howell Public School calendar, and the entire district will be closed on those days.

Second Semester Highlander Virtual Enrollment Window

The district is beginning preparations for second-semester enrollment for Highlander Virtual. This planning period allows time to make any necessary schedule adjustments. If you would like to change your child’s current enrollment, either from in-person to Highlander Virtual or from Highlander Virtual to in-person, please complete the short form at https://bit.ly/47Rk5R6t. A separate form should be submitted for each child whose enrollment you wish to change. The deadline to request an enrollment change for the second semester is 4 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025. If you have any questions, please contact Brooklyn Gehringer, Highlander Virtual Coordinator, at [email protected].
